A week after Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker gave his controversial commencement speech at a small Catholic school, Kylie Kelce gave one of her own.
Kylie Kelce, the wife of retired Philadelphia Eagles lineman Jason Kelce, spoke at her alma mater, Cabrini University.
She had some simple advice for the graduates: it’s OK if you don’t know what’s next. ” ‘I don’t know’ can be an honest and sufficient answer,” she told the audience of about 1,500 people. “The truth is that no one has their lives completely figured out. And if someone tells you otherwise, they are lying.”
She added: “This is part of the beauty of growing older and wiser. You are better equipped with knowledge to make more informed decisions. Just look at me now. I’m 32, mom of three.”
“Where did the time go? I couldn’t tell you. But what I can tell you is I have no idea what I’m doing. Every day, we are winging it. Just trying not to mess our kids up — come to find out that’s what our parents did, too.”
NFL fans are praising Kylie Kelce for the speech. “Imagine speaking at a private Catholic university and not making a bunch of asinine comments, but instead giving a positive, uplifting message in honor of their graduation,” one fan joked. “now this is the commencement speech the swifties support! What a beautiful speech,” one fan added.
“Now this is a beautiful and inspiring speech I love her encouraging words and it’s true everyone is always on different paths in life and what matters is you’re happy with what you’re doing in life,” one fan added.
“absolutely incredible,” antoher fan wrote.
Well done, Kylie.
