Nico Iamaleava’s father was caught packing a U-Haul truck ahead of a trip from Tennessee after helping his son lose a significant amount of money. And his body language did not seem like that of a happy man.

While much about the circumstances surrounding Nico’s Volunteers exit remains unknown, the most important details have been the subject of many reports. Basically, Nico’s dad, Nic, put his son on the market after Tennessee lost to Ohio State in the College Football Playoff in a bid to get him more money.

The decision cost him money instead, with his departure from Tennessee now set, and UCLA thought to be the destination.

WBIR reported on the move this week, showing Nic packing up and getting ready to ship off.

Nico Iamaleava Will Make Less In L.A. While Spending More

Nico Iamaleava was set for an $8 million payday at Tennessee, having agreed to a four-year deal worth $2 million per season. He held out for a $2 million increase, and the Vols called his bluff, opting to part ways after he missed practice ahead of the school’s spring game.Should the UCLA move materialize, it will cost him a lot. He’d make $1.5 million a year but pay 12 percent income tax in Los Angeles, whereas there was no tax to pay in Tennessee.

The standard of living is also much higher in L.A., meaning he will likely spend way more than he would have living in Tennessee.

Of course, the story is not over, and Nico can definitely bounce back from this by setting the world alight at UCLA, especially if they have a better season than Tennessee. For now, however, it’s just a proper mess.
