LSU began the 2025 college football season with a win over Clemson on Saturday, with the battle of the Tigers ending in a one-score lead for the Baton Rouge camp.
Brian Kelly had himself a CeeDee Lamb moment, though not as hefty as the Dallas Cowboys wide receiver, who nearly suffered whiplash after an official took him out on the sideline during a preseason game against the Los Angeles Rams earlier this month.
Kelly found himself in the ref’s way during the fourth quarter of Saturday’s win while the ball was in the air from a Clemson throw, getting bowled over as the official kept his stride while jogging backward.

Brian Kelly Gets Monkey Off His Back
Brian Kelly will probably not feel all that bad after being wiped out by the ref, given that he has finally won a season-opener with LSU.
This is Kelly’s first 1-0 record since taking over the program, so the win, while marginal, is one he will savor, especially as he had to deal with the suspension of an important player.
“So I just think that in this business, you really have to stay focused on what your job is, and my job is to bring a football team on the road, play with great confidence and composure, and compete their tails off for four quarters,” he told reporters after the game.
He will look to secure 2-0 against LA Tech next Saturday.
