Tennessee, whose most famous fan, Sara Blake Cheek, recently got into airline trouble, edged out the Bulldogs, 41-34, in an SEC showdown that needed overtime to decide a winner.

Their defense accounted for two touchdowns, including Colton Hood’s pick-six in the first quarter and Joshua Josephs’ 41-yard fumble return.

Mississippi State Impressed On The Ground But Could Not Score In Overtime

Mississippi State quarterback Blake Shapen threw for two TDs but got sacked five times and committed a late fumble.

Meanwhile, Vols QB Joey Aquilar passed for 335 yards and a touchdown, as well as a clutch six-yard rush to the end zone that forced overtime.

Key for the visitors were their five sacks, as mentioned above, two interceptions, and two defensive scores, also highlighted above.

The Bulldogs registered three takeaways and 198 rushing yards but were held scoreless in OT.

At least two of their fans couldn’t care less…
