Paraguayan swimmer Luana Alonso has moved on from said discipline following her Olympic disappointment.
Alonso, who was removed from Olympic Village for alleged “inappropriate behavior,” doesn’t appear to have any regrets. The 20-year-old was reportedly kicked out as she was accused of distracting other athletes with her sultry outfits.
Having come up short in the women’s 100m butterfly heats, missing out on qualification by just .024 seconds, the Paraguay national has decided to retire.

Luana Alonso Was At The Center Of Controversy In Paris
Alonso’s trip to France sparked some controversy in her home country. The Paraguayan Olympic Committee reportedly asked her to pack up and return home and accused her of creating an “inappropriate atmosphere” within the team.
According to media outlets from the South American country, the Olympic leadership was infuriated after she chose to go to a tourist destination instead of supporting her teammates.
“Her presence is creating an inappropriate atmosphere within Team Paraguay,” chief Larissa Schaerer said in a statement. “We thank her for proceeding as instructed, as it was of her own free will that she did not spend the night in the Athletes’ Village.”
For her part, Alonso has denied being removed. She has opted to retire in any case.
